Roberta Woolfson

Artist & Storyteller with Paint

I’m a storyteller with paint. Not content with a surface impression, I need to peel the onion and dig deep, and express my views in unusual ways.

I work with water-based paints: acrylic, gouache, watercolor, water soluble pencils & casein; but I experiment with texture & multimedia.

I am a colorist – I enhance color – after all I lived in Africa!

Because of three decades of teaching literature and drama, I love a theme – a motif. I develop the subject out of reality to a poetic level.

I enjoy a wide range of subjects: the human connection; bodies & dance; portraits & emotions; the splendor of nature: even politics; and because I’ve travelled widely – universal themes.

Always with some abstraction!
With expression
With color
With passion
